Please refer to back cover page for the means of obtaining this publication. 引言 Introduction 1. 零售业销货额统计数字是从「零售业 销货额按月统计调查」搜集的数嘀,主 要是用来量度本地零售业机构单位销售货品 的收益,以评估本地零售业短期的业务表现. 1. The Monthly Survey of Retail Sales (MRS) collects data for compiling retail sales statistics primarily intended to measure the sales receipts in respect of goods sold by local retail establishments, for gauging the short-term business performance of the local retail sector. 2. 零售业机构单位的分类是采用「香港 标准行业分类」.该行业分类用於各经济统 计调查,把经济单位拨归不同的行业类别. 为方便分析本地零售业短期的业务表现,本 报告内把零售行业,按个别组别的重要性, 组合成二十个零售商类别. 2. The classification of retail establishments follows the Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification (HSIC), which is used in various economic surveys for classifying economic units into different industry classes. To facilitate analysis of the short-term business performance of the local retail sector, the industry classes of the retail sector have been grouped into

20 retail outlet types in this report, taking into account their importance in the retail sector. 3. 政府统计处在二零零八年十月推行新 的「香港标准行业分类2.0版」后,「零售业 销货额按月统计调查」已作出改变,采用「香港标准行业分类2.0版」编制零售业销货 额统计数字.由二零零九年一月起,除另有 注明外,所有零售业销货额统计数字均按「香港标准行业分类2.0版」编制. 3. Upon the implementation of the new HSIC Version 2.0 by the Census and Statistics Department in October 2008, the MRS has been enhanced to adopt the HSIC Version 2.0 in compiling the retail sales statistics. Starting from the reference month of January 2009, all the retail sales statistics, unless otherwise specified, are compiled based on the HSIC Version 2.0. 概况 General observations 4. 根噶闶垡迪醵畎丛峦臣频鞑椤,二零零九年一月的零售业总销货价值 的临时估计为275 亿元,较上年同月上升7.4%.扣除期间价格变动后,今年一月的零 售业总销货数量较上年同月上升5.4%. 4. According to the MRS, the value of total retail sales in January 2009, provisionally estimated at $27.5 billion, increased by 7.4% over a year earlier. After netting out the effect of price changes over the same period, the volume of total retail sales increased by 5.4% in January

2009 over a year earlier. 5. 但应注意的是,由於今年农历新年在 一月尾,但上年则在二月初,因此上述的按 年比较可能会受到某程度的影响. 5. It should be noted that as the Lunar New Year fell in late January this year but in early February last year, the above year-on-year comparison might have been affected by this factor to a certain extent. 6. 二零零八年十二月零售业总销货价值 的修订估计为253 亿元,较二零零七年十二月上升1.1%,而总销货数量则下跌0.5%. 6. The revised estimate of the value of total retail sales in December 2008, at $25.3 billion, increased by 1.1% over December 2007, while the volume of total retail sales decreased by 0.5%. 7. 按商店类别分析,二零零九年一月与 二零零八年一月比较,鞋类、有关制品及其 他衣物配件的销货数量升幅最大,上升17.2%.其次为超级市场货品(零售量上升 15.7%)、电器及摄影器材(上升15.1%)、 百货公司货品(上升9.9% ) 、 服装(上升8.1%)、燃料(上升8.0%)、食品、酒类饮 7. Analysed by type of retail outlet and comparing January

2009 with January 2008, the volume of sales of footwear, allied products and other clothing accessories increased the most, by 17.2%. This was followed by sales of commodities in supermarkets (+15.7% in volume);

electrical goods and photographic equipment (+15.1%);

fuels (+8.0%);

2009 compared with a year earlier. This was followed by sales of furniture and fixtures (-9.3% in volume);

and miscellaneous consumer durable goods (-6.7%). 9. 截至二零零九年一月底的三个月,与 先前三个月比较,经季节性调整的零售业总 销货数量上升0.2%. 9. Based on the seasonally adjusted series, the volume of total retail sales in the three months ending January
