40 4 General VAHLE insulated conductors are designed in accordance to inter- national safety regulations for a multitude of power supply app- lications.

They fully meet VDE

0100 and are finger safe to EN

60529 (VDE 0470, part 1, protection code IP 23). They are UL, SAA and SEV approved. For current collectors touch protection is only given if carbon brushes are fully entered into the conductors. Conductor instal- lations in the reach of hand, where collectors lea- ve the conductor rails during normal operation, must be protected against accidental touch by the customer e.g. switch-off or separation. This refers to voltages above
